We’ve chosen to support St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester with a donation and are planning fundraising activities later this year as part of our Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.
St Richard’s deliver vital support in the community by offering free, expert care and support for adults with an illness that cannot be cured, which includes cancer and neurological, respiratory, cardiac and renal conditions. They also support patients’ loved ones and carers.
In a recent letter from St Richard’s, they shared with us Vanessa’s story. Vanessa is a patient who lives with colon cancer and was admitted to the In-Patient unit before regaining her strength and returning home again.
She now manages her symptoms with support from St Richard’s Living Well Team: “Despite the fact that I was so ill and so sick and was told I was dying, coming to St Richard’s was like being cushioned all around. It’s such a cushion and a comfort to know there is St Richard’s to come to. Whenever I think of this place, I get a warm glow.”
